About Me: As a Research Specialist for the Mineral-Water Interface and Mercury Laboratories, I perform chemical analysis on solid and aqueous samples from experimental and field studies. I maintain and operate a variety of instrumentation, including an ICP-OES for the detection of low level metals and a Thermal Decomposition Amalgamator and CVAFS, both of which are used for detection of mercury. This position allows me to assist undergraduates and graduate students with development of research experiments and to train them on the use of laboratory instrumentation.
