Roy Plotnick interviewed by Nature and Vozpópuli

Professor Roy Plotnick talks about his thought experiment on the “Sixth Extinction”, a term that refers to the decline in biodiversity over the past centuries.  He and his coauthors ask if biological species that recently have gone extinct have a fossil record - in other words would future humans know that such species ever existed?  The work will be presented at the 2014 meeting of the Geological Society of America.
