Ann Cosgrove is member of UIC team winning EPA’s Campus RainWorks Challenge
Graduate student Ann Cosgrove is a member of a team of seven UIC students winning first place in the master plan category of the National Campus RainWorks Challenge Green Infrastructure competition sponsored by the US Environmental Protection Agency. In addition to Annie, the team includes Emmanuel Dominguez, Nicholas Haas, David Klawitter, and Lisha Wu from Civil and Materials Engineering, and Eduardo Munoz and Curtis Witek from Urban Planning and Policy. The team’s advisor is Professor Ben O’Connor of Civil and Materials Engineering.
The Campus RainWorks Challenge is a design competition to engage college and university students in reinventing water infrastructure. Student teams proposed innovative green infrastructure designs to reduce stormwater pollution and develop sustainable communities. US EPA Region V Administrator will be on campus on April 22, 2015 to present the award as part of the 2015 Earth Day celebration Ecojam.
