We are happy to announce that Ashley Nodruff has received a Liberal Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Research Initiative (LASURI) award for her proposal titled "The Spatial-Temporal Story of Snow Cover on the Quelccaya Ice Cap (Peru)".  Ashley will be a junior undergraduate Earth and Environmental Sciences major and has been working with Professor Andrew Malone since Fall 2018 to track variability in seasonal snow cover on the Quelccaya Ice Cap in Peru using remote-sensing data. This research will help us better constrain mass loss on tropical glaciers and provide data that glaciologists (like Prof. Malone) can use to validate their models. The LASURI award provides $2500 for the next academic year to help Ashley pursue her research and present her findings.
